Also, I've been experimenting a bit with #NomadBSD lately. It's not quite as polished as a Linux distro, but it's mighty nice! (Persistent #FreeBSD-based boot USB image, can do UFS or ZFS and optionally encrypt)
I picked falcon because it was old and a little beat up, but also very functional. rogueone because it was a bit of a rebellious device (a $200 ARM linux laptop!), and Excelsior was especially poignant because of an elegant, but unstable machine.

In 2018, a biologist wrote a paper based on the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Threshold" (one of the silliest episodes in Star Trek history) and submitted it to 10 open-access journals to expose their predatory practices:
"charging authors publication fees without providing the editorial services associated with legitimate journals, such as careful peer review and vetting of the paper's claims."
According to the news this morning Paramount #StarTrek is being bought by a consortium funded by KKR. Well, it was a good run folks. Maybe in another thirty years we can try again.
I still love that they created a completely animated version of the Strange New Worlds title sequence for the "Those Old Scientists" crossover episode with Lower Decks.
