I've started a new #Skyrim run to play with my girlfriend. She's not used to the RPG conventions, especially in their videogame format. I'll keep track of her reactions in a thread down here.
#NintendoSwitch has their own year-in-review, and here's the basics. #Skyrim ate a huge chunk of my #gaming time thanks to the Anniversary Edition content, which added new content and new bugs.
#DiscoElysium was both the first game I played in 2023, and probably the most memorable and easily the most thought-provoking game of my year. Overall I spent 1,713 hours of my life gaming and played 31 total games.
BTW if you want to be Switch friends I'm EnbyKay, SW-6538-6603-8887.
So I didn't know this was a thing but this year was probably my most inactive year on the switch because of finally getting a laptop. And even though skyrim isn't on my most played games I was switching between both pc and switch for it XD
A walkthrough post for what I did to install an unofficial patch to FISSES, one of the mods I'm using in my modded playthroughs, which allows certain mods to have access to the file system so that you can save out settings for things like RaceMenu, A Matter of Time, and other mods you want to save custom configs for.
Hopefully useful to any other #Skyrim players who are using FISSES in their load orders!
I can confirm that this unofficial patch did resolve the last error I was seeing my modded playthroughs throwing on startup, following the recent update to the game. So I hope this helps somebody else!
#ElderScrolls#Skyrim just had huge update with lots of bug fixes, official Steam Deck support, support for ultra wide monitors and a the new "creations" store.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - Creations Update Patch Notes
Holy shit, there's a #Skyrim update! Got up this morning to see the news that they've apparently dropped a substantial patch. Release notes at the link.
Anybody besides me playing modded playthroughs, be advised this may break your ability to play those modded playthroughs until your mods catch up, if you haven't already taken steps to lock your Skyrim to a specific version!
My poor housecarl, Lydia, died in battle when we were attacked by cultist coming back into Ivarstead. Is there a way to get her back or is she gone gone? #skyrim 🪦 ⚔️
I decided to trust Saadia in the Redwoman mission; sure she threatened to stab me during our first chat, but the other group seemed a little shadier so why not #skyrim
Right then, summary for my evening #skyrim progress:
• saved Saadia
• accepted a few minor quests
• joined The Companions, finished the required mission to retrieve a bit of their legendary weapon
• found out there are werewolves in this game 🐺
• purchased the Breezehome in Whiterun and the bedroom decorations, hopefully this isn’t a massive waste of money because it cost all my current gold
• my character is now level 8
So…. Giants are not friendly. I was hunting for a mastodon tusk (mission from woman in Whiterun), and saw two giants with mastodons. I approached them and the red enemy dot didn’t appear so I figured I might be able to chat about a tusk. I was wrong, I was very wrong #Skyrim
• Made a pit stop in Morthal and finished the Laid to Rest quest. The little girl ghost was a bit of a surprise, but mission to find the vampires was easy. I think the main baddie infected me because everyone said I looked sick and my health tab was red.
• finished the main Windcaller quest and gave it back to the old cult in the mountains, officially #DragonBorn now! 🐉
• next plan is to meet with Delphine and start the A Blade in the Dark quest.
Finally defeated The Gatekeeper in Miraak Temple; only took about 50 quick saves and getting killed by The Gatekeeper ~15 times. Thank the gods for quick saves and loads. #Skyrim
Finished a few side quests after the temple mission; made my way back to continue The Blessings of Nature quest. I killed the witches to obtain Nettlebane and received the additional The Break of Dawn because the witches had the beacon in their chest. I saw the quote “A new hand touches the beacon" a few times online so I finally get the reference 😂 #Skyrim
@jesse_saenz if your build can include a one-handed sword, its effect is pretty good against the undead, so it's worth it. I think people just joke because it's so unexpected and loud. #Skyrim
