This project will not only convert normal messages but also transform mailing lists into #pubsub based forums. It includes UI/UX enhancements on Libervia, end-to-end encryption, and advanced handling of attachments.
Has anybody tried using Libervia as a bridge between XMPP and ActivityPub? I'm thinking about giving it a try so I can following people on the ActivityPub side from my Movim instance. It doesn't look all that straight forward to setup, though, so it's probably going to be a big time sink as I troubleshoot it while setting it up.
I just finished doing my weekly syslog-ng git snapshot compiles. Google #pubsub support is now available in many of my @opensuse / #SLES & @fedora / #RHEL packages:
Set up ntfy.sh yesterday and am really digging its flexibility. Admittedly I've got no clue how to integrate like... 90% of what it's capable of, but being able to roll my own push notifications for things like media, uptime, and automations from Home Assistant.
The federation model of #ActivityPub is based on random chance. Yes, being on a larger instance increases your chances that you can see all replies in a thread but it doesn’t guarantee it.

We have already nearly everything with #XMPP#Pubsub: posts, rich contents, multi-levels comments, repeat, edit, reactions, like/seen, deletion, attachments, mentions.
The main things we are probably lacking for modern social network are trolls and advertisements. For those I can't do much for, but for everything else that may be lacking, just ask, and I might implement it.
#OX (XEP-0373, XEP-0374: #OpenPGP for #XMPP, without security problems of historical XEP-0027) implementation has been merged to #Libervia, thanks to Syndace again, and #NLnet for their funding.
OX doesn't have PFS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_secrecy) but that means that new devices can access archives, which may be desirable. Also, it can encrypt arbitrary elements.
