Reduced memory footprint, improved raise-to-wake functionality, fixed weather service with °C/°F selection, improved build system, this new version has a lot to offer!
It even mounts the PineTime filesystem so you can access (R/W) all the file from the watch directly from the command line of from your favorite file browser!
Even better : it exposes the address, the battery level, the heart rate, the motion data, the step count and the version as virtual files!
We need #openhardware with #bluetooth so we can link them it to #MyGNUHealth.
Currently we have @pine64eu smartwatch, but we'd love to integrate scales, glucometers, blood pressure monitors...
Just reply to this toot or send us a message if you know of any device. We'd love to test them!🤗 #GNU#GNUHealth#pinephone#PineTime
Hey @JF, since I know that you recently asked for some info on this somewhere on here (don't remember the thread), here's a quick update on #PineTime#Infinitime uptime after the latest update: After more than three weeks both #smartwatches are still going strong but they saw comparably very low use. Both with medium brightness. The one with 20% was used on a few days and was always connected to my Android phone via #Gadgetbridge. >
Was about to play around with my #PineTime again, then got reminded once more how insanely painful it is to build #InfiniTime and InfiniSim and so just chose to do something else...
I had ordered a #PineTime late october from the Pine 64 website. It came in France mid-November. I paid taxes online (I first checked if it was the real website of laposte). But never received it. Both local carrier (#LaPoste) and Pine Microsystems advise me to check with the other one...
Any advice? :shibacry:
Does the pine time have any benefits if you dont enable bluetooth and have it connected to a phone? I know i wouldn't get notifications, but do other things work like heart rate, steps, clock etc, without being connected to the phone? periodic connections would be fine i just don't want to have Bluetooth on all the time.
I'm running custom firmware written using @TinyGo. Admittedly I haven't been using the watch a lot, but BLE, the touchscreen, and the step counter have all been enabled this time.
(It says InfiniTime only because that's what Gadgetbridge scans for, it's not actually running InfiniTime).
I'd like to get back to tracking health telemetry about myself, but without the cloud requirement of Fitbit/similar options. Anyone know if #PineTime is any good?
Funny: I was just about to post how my #PineTime has been absolutely waterproof for me(gym, shower, dishes, etc.) and then it started doing this (constant vibration motor at low speeds I guess?).
Latest #InfiniTime 1.14, a 10s-button-reboot doesn't help, nor does triggering normal vibration. I can't make it stop, how does one turn this thing off? 😂
The screen is also constantly backlit. 🤔
EDIT: lol now it stopped randomly? wtf... 🤷
EDIT2: aaand again 🙃
