Took a research survey looking into effectiveness of #ACPE Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy ( #SIP) training.
I am looking forward to the training.
I'm peeved about the survey. They can't list every religion in the world, but with Neo-Pagan religions being the fastest growing cluster of religions in the USA, do better than sticking us in "OTHER"! Limits the research effectiveness & hides us.
This year's maypole turned out pretty good! Couldn't sing songs cuz I have a cold, but thankfully after all these years, my kids have learned some, so they sang for me.
Hope everyone us having a great #Beltane may your happiness and laughter burn bright!
Happy Beltane my fellow witches on the northen hemisphere! And blessed Samhain to you southern lot.
Joyous celebrations all around! #pagan#paganHolidays#beltane#mabon#witches#celebration
EDIT.
I apparently messed it up, it's Samhain down south! fixed it.
Born of Rhea, last of her children
A young god from the womb of an eldeer
Fathered by Kronos, king of the heavens
Of an era long gone now
Destined to be consumed were you
For your father feared the future
Not knowing he was the cause
Of his very own demise
Raised on Crete, that sacred land
Where spirits of the land were tasked with you
Fed the milk of Amaltheia, the goat
And kept hidden by the songs of the Kouretes
Destiny was no match for your mother saved you
A stone she gave your hungry father
Who subsumed it into himself
As he would have done to you
A young and powerful god you were
Told tales of your father’s guilt
And your mothers desperate gamble
You grew to beauteous godhood
Destiny once more exerted her power
You rose to high Olympus
And to your father presented yourself
A cupbearer to serve him as he ruled
A scheming god, wise and patient
A cup you prepared for your father
Herbs and spices in his beloved wine
To induce in him a need to set off your plans
Destiny spun its threads
And into the tapestry of life set your story
As god after god was born anew
From the father’s body expelled
With divine power and righteous anger
The children went to war with their father
From the depths others released
To fight for you in this holy time
Destiny wove your righteous actions into fate
The great mother advised you and yours
Thunder was forged for you
To win this holy war in the heavenly realm
The war won you took a wife
And betrayed the children of Earth
Whose weapons helped your cause
And into the dark pits did you send them
So Destiny once more turned its spindle
The threads once more she wove into life
A new perophecy, a new fate
One we pray will not come to pass
And so you rule, O Heavenly Zeus
God of the mountain peaks
Stirring the clouds to storming
Bearer of the thunder that none yet dare face
Emboldened by the fascist Ky GOP imposing their religious beliefs on women and LGBTQ folks, now magats are harassing businesses of people who follow different spiritual paths.
This was never going to end with abortion and trans people - you know that, right?
They intend to eliminate anyone and everyone who will not bow to their disgusting cult. Today it's crystals and nature religions. Tomorrow it's Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Sufis, and Judaism.
These nutjobs don't care about constitutional rights and are fine with using police state violence to enforce their cult's backward and barbaric beliefs. And if that doesn't work, they're fine with murder, arson, and assault.
I welcome anyone who wants to call themselves Pagan into the community, even if we don't agree on what paganism is. The point of the pagan umbrella is to protect ourselves with numbers. We might think we’re all very different, but the christian fascists would lump us all together to burn anyway.
Christians use this concept too, to make people think they’re dominant. Mormons and Lutherens are very different in their practice, but as long as they all call themselves “Christian” they make up 63% of the population, instead of 1.2% and 3.8% respectively.
There are more Pagans in the USA than Mormons. There are more Pagans than Muslims, than Jehovah's Witnesses. There are about the same number of Pagan practitioners as those practicing Judaism. (stats from wikipedia and Pew Research)
By all accounts, we should have much more protection and public visibility than we do. It comes down to how we gather ourselves into a community and put aside pedantic squabbles to keep everyone safe and support each other.
Your plans are made, so put them in motion. Make your investment, put in your resources, send out your ships. Hold faith that you'll receive good returns on what you put in.
One thing I like about the Norse pantheon of gods is that they are not as concerned with ‘respect’ as the gods of some monotheistic religions.
You can talk about them casually. You can take their names in vain, make jokes about their myths. You can depict them in cartoons; they might even find it amusing.
There's no promise of smiting or consequences for not being solemn enough. And if you don't love them or worship them, they're not out to make you. It means the relationship is more reciprocal; you get out of it what you put into it.
I'm glad to see all the witches doing eclipse magick today. Back in the day, and probably still, there's a superstition that any magick done during an eclipse will go ‘haywire.’ I always thought this was kinda silly, cuz conjunctions are usually seen as supportive in astrology. Like, the Sun has got the Moon's back.
Anyways, it's rare that the greater overculture celebrates a celestial event with us, so I say use that momentum and praise the new moon, witches!
Missing from this vanilla article about "#paganism" in the UK armed forces are any mentions of the fact that all of these #Pagan faiths are rooted in #whiteSupremacy, and are adopted by #whiteSupremacists looking for a way to hide their hateful ideals from the greater public. Clueless articles like this play the role of useful idiot. Whenever you hear about someone in the 21st century adopting paganism, it's almost always a white supremacist hiding in plain sight.
