I'm not going to do a write-up for Otakon 2023 for the blog. I'll probably make mention of it at year's end. The surgery, the stress around it, and six weeks of recovery time just threw me off.
That said, here are my pictures from convention. It includes stuff from panels, and a lot of my friend Coast Husky in fursuit.
I'll also post a few pictures of interest directly here. And probably a few on my pixelfed account over the weekend.

I legit thought Otakon would see a dip in attendance due to Anime Next being held this year... Nope I was wrong... They broke last years record, and hit 42k attendees
Another personal ritual of mine is enjoying 🇯🇵 Japanese cuisine after every #anime convention. For #otakon2023 i hit up DC’s Chinatown and dined at Zumo Thai, a fusion joint serving 🇹🇭🇰🇷🇨🇳🇯🇵…I had 🍱 Bento Box “A”, which had a little bit of everything I ❤️.
Finally I hit up the #KPop booth that always has the largest selection of stuff. I was slacking on TWICE albums since last year... so I grabbed all 4 versions of Formula of Love: O+T=<3 album, and 1 version of Ready to Be album.
After grabbing vinyls on Friday, I found some well known #CityPop artists' albums on Saturday. I grabbed 3 Tatsuro Yamashita albums, and 4 Mariya Takeuchi albums.
Day 2 and day 3 of Otakon are done. I took pictures at a photo shoot, went to the only industry panel that interested me (Discotek), and hung out for a while at a Maryland furmeet. (I'm not a MD fur, nor will I ever be, but it was nice to meet new people.
In the evening my husband and I changed into our steam punk clothes and strolled around the artist alley. A thunderstorm delayed some of our time going to the convention. #Otakon2023
The final day was spent doing everything I didn't get to do yesterday. That included buying anime on blu-ray, taking pictures of people and things that caught my eye, and getting the most out my Wild Bill's soda refills.
We decided not to stay for closing ceremonies. Our group then parted ways with our friend Coast. The road back to Philadelphia has been long because of traffic days. We haven't even passed through Maryland yet. #Otakon2023

#Otakon2023 is one week away and I am so hyped. I didn't get to see much last year. This year I'm back to staying downtown and ready to hang out with @ScottSpaziani and @PerfectSerenad3!
They have more entrances this year, so hope that means less of a line clusterfuck like last year lol
