Today we travelled to the #CityOfBath, which is just over an hour away by train, making it suitable for a day trip. We cycled to our #RailwayStation and left our #bikes there. In #Bath, we only used pubic #buses and walked everywhere; we were lucky that although today had been planned well in advance, the weather was wonderful.
After a quick visit in the morning to the #UniversityOfBath, we spent most of our time wandering around the centre of the #city. The #RoyalCrescent has houses on its perimeter, curved in a #CircularArc, overlooking a park on the lower slopes.
The #RiverAvon flows through the city and here, you can see it and also one of the famous #bridges, called #PulteneyBridge, which has shops over the span.
There’s a nice walk along a stretch of the #river and here you can see the bridge from which the last #photograph was taken. I like the reflection of the river on the underside of the #arch.
After just 5 weeks at our shelter, Paule was allowed to move to his new home. Nobody at the shelter where he had been before was interested in him because of his past. With us, he proved to be a completely unproblematic dog. So long, Paule! I really enjoyed our walks. You are a great dog!
Had a blast riding over Stevens Pass, Blewett Pass, and Snoqualmie Pass over the weekend! I finally became comfortable with counterleaning allowing me to put my CBR650R to good use on twisty roads, and the Corbin saddle with 2” extra height over the stock seat saved my knees and wrists. This bike is so much fun! (Album (more photos))
Here, 3-4 tons of mass are being lowered into the water. Even though the vegetarian hippos look very clumsy, they rank among the most dangerous animals in the world. They are unpredictable and territorial, meaning that any hostile intruder in their territory is eliminated. Their canine teeth are up to one meter long and their jaws can bite twice as hard as a lion. #mywork
My first longer ride on the new bike! While I had a ton of fun, this ride also taught me that the bike really needs a higher seat to make my knees and wrists happy. The pain became unbearable at times. (Album (more photos))
Thankfully, I had ordered a custom taller seat a little while back and it wouldn’t be long until it arrived.
It’s #spring and the #flowers are blooming, which means that #Bees have got a good supply of food. They particularly seem to like the small flowers of the #Cotoneaster plant in the front #garden and throughout a #SunnyDay, there are always several dozen on it.
Took my new CBR650R on a spin through the Cascade Foothills to see the new Oso Landslide Memorial. The memorial was cool, but riding at 40 MPH north of Monroe was honestly pretty boring! (Album (more photos))
