Some final refinements for SYTYAW as #dragoncon approaches. Had a fun time letting people check it out after Friday’s Wasted Wine show/single release at a local brewery. It’s always cool when you have kids asking you about Doom modding and giving you some game design thoughts of their own. #gzdoom#gamedesign#doom#modding
Getting SYTYAW ready for some public testing at a local Wasted Wine show, leading up to our #dragoncon album release on Thurs/Fri. I can always feel when one #doom project is ending because of how my other projects seem to pine for me to work on them… #modding#gzdoom
A little HUD update for So You Think You’re a Witch. It’s interesting—I really resisted adding any health system whatsoever, in an effort to keep to my original vision of “super-simple Berserk-but-first-person-and-with-collage-art.” But one-hit deaths are just so much more unsatisfying in a first person perspective, and this is opening up a lot of fun possibilities. #doom#modding#gamedesign
Started off making a lil attract mode for So You Think You’re a Witch. Now thinking about trying to use fully Doom-engine-powered backdrops at one of our upcoming gigs 😂
this is a no-solder mod and a complete case swap that uses a funnyplaying 3.0 ips kit, a usbc battery mod, a custom shell, new buttons, new stickers, and an ezflash omega definitive edition cart with an sd card that currently holds every #gb#gbc and #gba rom from myrient afaik
very happy with it, definitely my second favorite way to play gba games after the steam deck. this is great to just bring around around with me when i'm just waiting to pick someone up. :3
Made it to Test Chamber 17! The first aerial faith plate test was easy, the next one? Gonna have to think it over. I've been having fun taking pics tho.
A lil more gameplay from So You Think You’re a Witch, in celebration of sending off for the CD and vinyl of the accompanying album. Gonna be a quick turnaround to get everything ready for our #dragoncon performance in just over 3 weeks!
Got through the last laser puzzle in Portal Reloaded, it took me awhile but I figured it out... It looks like the next test will be with Faith Plates! That should be interesting, next time I play.
Did some more fiddling with video-to-gif conversion and finally have some decent gameplay gifs for So You Think You’re a Witch. Also had a fun time doing some initial playtesting with my bandmate and his kids!
My wife made a super cute drawing for So You Think You’re a Witch, nodding to a certain janktastic pre-Doom FPS that’s among the inspirations for my little merch booth game. Hoping I can find time to properly digitize this for a true oldschool title screen. But today’s goal is to finalize the music on the accompanying EP we’ll be releasing at #DragonCon this year 🎶
Cooking up some final touches on my merch booth game, So You Think You’re a Witch. Coming to my band’s merch table at #dragoncon in less than a month! Water texture here courtesy of @martian ‘s groovy retro texture pack 😎
Started learning #Blender about a week and a half ago because I was curious about how useful it would be to make #Doom / #GZDoom stuff.
Using it create HUD portrait sprites doesn't seem particularly viable, but I might get into sculpting at some point in the future.
For now, though, I'll be doing regular old modeling to create 3D objects. Like this treasure chest, so I can get rid of the janky edits of stolen sprites I used earlier.
Ever wondered if you could do changes to The Settlers II Gold Edition? Well, now you can learn how!
This article covers some basics on palettes, and also touches on light and shadow color table. You can get hands on in changing stuff like player colors.
If you have summer time to waste on something, why not try some little #modding of an old #DOS game?
I'll just read this game's modding documentation and suddenly I'm also reading the documentation or following tutorials for different art programs, IDEs, or scripting languages.
Nbd! And then you dig further and dead links to info or tools and then it's hell #Gaming#Modding#Modmaking
