I was cast in a play at the Lafayette Civic Theatre Play Festival! I will be playing an aging stoner, like totally typecast, man.
I also wrote one of the plays which will be presented as well. If you want a double-dose of seeing your good pal Scotto do creative comedy stuff, then mark your calendar for the last weekend in June.
Biggie Announcement: I'm officially a #playwright! Woohoo!
My comedy 10-minute play "Carthago Delenda Est" was selected to be produced - with real actors on stage - for the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette's Play Festival! I'm giddy with all the good feelings. 🤩 If you're in #LafayetteIN over the last weekend in June, come out and see it!
Thanks to all the people who helped proofread, and gave me suggestions to make it better.
Date night with my wife at Painting With A Twist in #LafayetteIN. We choose the fluorescent painting class because it's cool, man!
We followed along and painted with an instructor following a template, creating passable art. They also had a Lego Deadpool Bob Ross figurine to Cheer us on. Fun event.
As my first painting experience, I did like the funky texture on my moon and comet behind it. It really pops under the black light!
Remember me talking about the best #Hoosier#pizza yesterday?
I've got sad news to report. Today I found out Bruno's Pizza is closing after 70 years, due to a development swallowing up its space. Today is the last day to grab a slice or two.
But my #1 place: Buck Creek pizza, bcz it's one of the few places I can walk to in small-town Dayton serving Hoosier pizza. Tell'em Scott sent ya. https://buckcreek-pizza.com/
I just felt inspired and wrote a 10-minute play this morning for the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette's annual Short Play Festival. I've had it rolling around in my head a while, and it's good to finally get it on (digital) paper.
Entries are due March 1st, and it's open to all Indiana residents. Selected plays would be presented June 28-30.
Hey #HoosierMast, the theatrical play (not the film) of "Night of the Living Dead", is this weekend at Duncan Hall, #LafayetteIN. It sounds like a hoot!
Taking up photography a few years ago really opened my eyes to the beauty around me. For example, I went from not paying attention to sunrises to being mesmerized by them!
These utility towers are located in Lafayette Indiana. I took the photos last weekend (between rainstorms) from Tapawingo Park across the Wabash River in West Lafayette, Indiana.
I really enjoy the constraint of shooting with a prime lens, especially a longer focal length. On this day I was walking around with a vintage Pentax Tele-Takumar 200mm F5.6 lens adapted to my Sony a7R2...so I had no option except to keep my framing tight.
Hi folks - My name is Scott Starkey, living around the Lafayette area. My day job is a Groovy / Java developer for Purdue. Is it possible to have too many creative hobbies? I'm a part-time professional magician & mentalist (i.e. a probably fake mind-reader); I speak Esperanto; I'm a game designer and illustrator. I'm a Freemason. My favorite candy is a Zagnut bar.
