I don't know if it's the same in other countries, but in Canada it's the law to have an ‘unsubscribe' link at the bottom of marketing emails. It sure makes it easier to get rid of the spam and to achieve #InboxZero!

Despite SAAS like #Teams or #Slack, I still find #email has the greatest longevity, and is roughly standards compliant many years later accessible via numerous web, desktop & mobile apps.
There is an efficiency in dealing with many of the same type of messages in batches (or selecting huge numbers of a given type or from a given sender and deleting them all at once!).
On the other hand, having enough email to batch up means having a bunch of email in my inbox, but I find if one, two, or even several messages show up, but my inbox is otherwise empty, I can see what they are and dispatch them with little energy and effort.
