I have never been great with learning languages, I struggle with being understood speaking English quite a lot but that's because some people only hear accents.
Anyway, can anyone point me to some good sites/apps that teach languages, but aren't full of AI or trackers? I tried babbel and duolingo but struggled when it brought in phrases that I'll never use in my lifetime. Conversational please.

I learned webdev back when we positioned elements with float and IE6 compatibility was a concern. I know fundamentals. I picked some new things along the way. But I wonder how you would work when you don't shoehorn new things into outdated models I grew up with.

If I have a simple C# 4.8 application and I wanted to add a way to feed it instructions remotely, how would I do that? This will be a program running fullscreen that needs full control of the mouse/keyboard.

How can I search for a subject on Mastodon?
The search engines have now been taken over by AI on all browsers, it seems. The worst part is, I can’t use the kind of search lingo I used to because it’s so literal and can’t find what I’m looking for. Is there any way to bypass AI results? Is this permanent?
@claudiamiles 1/2 The question about how to search depends on whether you're using an app, or the browser version. In the browser, there's a link at top left. That searches entire documents. There is no "subject" for Mastodon posts. There are what are called "hashtags", which start with the hash mark "#", that can optionally be used to mark subjects discussed in a message. For instance, I'm going to tag this message as #Mastodon related. Search engines in part 2/2.
