This is concerning on many levels, but a couple of questions I think deserve particular attention:
Firstly, what's the deal with those selfies? And how on earth does Revolut think it breaches GDPR to share selfies of a customer with the customer themselves?
Secondly how did the fraudsters manage to open bank accounts under the names 'Revoult Fees', 'Etsy', 'Google Workspace' and 'Uber Uber'?
It looks to me like multiple orgs messed up badly here!
Pas cool : je suis (j’étais) chez HSBC. Ils sont devenus le CCF début janvier et rien ne marche. Je ne peux pas me connecter à leur appli. Je ne peux plus me connecter à leur site Web - qui ne me reconnaît plus alors que ça marchait dimanche. Évidemment, pas moyen d’avoir des infos cohérentes de la part des conseillers (visiblement à part dire “il y a des bugs” ils n’ont aucune explication ni solution à apporter). J’ai des factures à payer et je ne peux pas le faire car j’ai besoin de l’appli pour ça …

In a decision which vindicates the actions of nine women who broke the windows of Europe’s second largest investor in fossil fuels, #HSBC, a jury at Southwark Crown Court today returned a verdict of ‘not guilty’ after just two hours deliberating.
London-based #HSBC bank will delay the planned sale of its Russian subsidiary until the first half of 2024, the bank said in its third quarter 2023 earnings statement released on Oct. 30.
The sale was originally announced in June 2022, but the statement said that the "transaction is subject to governmental approvals," delaying its completion.

The banking giant #HSBC says its #profits have more than #doubled as it benefited from rising #interest#rates around the world. Europe's largest bank reported profits before tax of almost $22 billion - up nearly13 billion dollars on the same time a year earlier. 💰 HSBC has invested $144b in fossil fuels since the Paris Agreement in 2016 and has made huge profits from destroying the planet. Last December the bank promised to stop funding new fossil fuel projects. Good news?
👉 The devil is in the details. HSBC pledged to stop investing in new oil and gas projects but it's continuing to pour billions into fossil fuel companies that are expanding fossil fuels. Meanwhile, its green bonds are being used to fund mines, oil rigs, pipelines, and deforestation. This is pure greenwash!
💪 We demand HSBC follow the example set by Danske Bank in Denmark and immediately stop offering refinancing and new long-term financing to oil and gas companies that continue to expand in fossil fuel infrastructure.
👉 HSBC's dirty secret must be exposed. No amount of greenwash can hide the fact that it is making record profits while bankrolling climate chaos. There are no banker bonuses on a dead planet.
