This seems like one for the #GearSquad - it makes sense that I can't use two barrel connectors (with 9V adapters) off of a single Onespot daisychained pedal power plug on this 80s 18V Ibanez Flanger - it gets pulled down and everything hooked up to it shuts off. But why won't two Onespots work? The pedal won't turn on without ACTUAL BATTERIES and I'd rather not keep feeding it batteries. The pedal can make a nice warm Leslie sound. #Guitar In other news, I have an extra Onespot now. 🫠
Back in business, the Apogee Symphony MKII is now integrated into my studio and working like a charm.Will probably retire the Apogee Quartet that has been my workhorse for over a decade. So glad that I have made this switch from the Presonus Quantum 4848. The Symphony is vastly superior. #gearsquad#apogee#symphony#studio#recording#music
We have lift-off, the Apogee Symphony MKII is connected and operating. I've set it as the primary output for my computer, although I can easily change output devices. Tomorrow I'll start the process of connecting the DB25 connectors for all 32 inputs & outputs and start testing. #gearsquad#apogee#symphony#recording#studio#music
Hey #gearsquad do you all have any opinions on Arturia minilab vs keystep 37, along with the new IK UNO synth pro X? I’m pondering a setup with these (either or on the arturia controllers of course) plus a nanobox lemondrop. Pedal effects chain considerations: mirrorhouse pedal, and one of these: Strymon Nightsky, OBN Minim, or a Meris LVX. Along with an ana sounds Tape Preamp pedal. :blobcatcoffee:
Desired outcome: NIN “The Slip”, Postal Service “Give Up”, Imogen Heap, 1920’s lounge singer.
The Fever Dream, by Pine-Box Customs and Mask Audio Electronics is a fuzz with a modulatable resonant filter.
Oh, and a CB radio microphone which runs through the fuzz and filter, naturally.
It's a noisy thing, more than capable of overwhelming your guitar playing with the resonance of the filter. Dial it back a bit, or roll down your guitar's volume, and it's much friendlier.
It’s a 4-in-1 pedal that gives you two very familiar drive circuits and two brand new amp-like distortion tones that no one has used before. It’s almost like pedal-modeling, except these are 100% analog circuits, and you decide which tone-control or clipping-section you want to play through....
Recording some tracks for my “cover” of Breathe by Pink Floyd. Serious question, tho: if I am brave enough to begin posting my work, where can I post covers without enraging copyright lawyers somewhere? Bandcamp seems right for me but they are explicit about owning uploaded content. #guitar#music#gearsquad
#Straturday I bought this in '94 my senior year of high school. Wilkinson style roller nut, Schaller locking tuners, Lace Sensor pickups. Never realized how the scale length and string gauge had me doing a death grip on the neck and strings until I picked up a PRS a couple years ago. Chords sounded ass on the PRS until I lightened my grip. Picking it up today my volume/gain settings throughout my signal chain were really underwhelming. guess I need a 2nd rig for single coils now! 😂 #gearsquad

Has anyone played with an expression #pedal into a #delay, controlling delay time?
Watching a 1979 Boston concert has me wondering.
Edit: [#GearSquad]
FWIW, Telecaster bridge (Lollar Special T) with the volume down into silicon FuzzFace into an Orange Micro Terror to a 10" speaker.
PJ bass bridge pickup into a Rat into a Peavey into a homemade plywood box with a Pioneer woofer.
SM57 clone on the cabs, condenser mic for vocals, some phone audio mixed in. #GearSquad
In college (late 90s) my roommate had a DigiTech PDS 2730 HotBox. He played a PRS into a MESA head and 4x12. I had a Samick KJ-560 and a Crate GX-212 combo with maybe a Metal Zone and a Vox wah. I’d seen and used multi-effects (had a Zoom 9000 for a while), but never something like this before at the time. I remember thinking...
So #gearsquad what’s your favorite reverb? I have yet to find a plate or spring that I vibe with, so far. A shimmering hall reverb; now we seem to get along well :blobcat:
@ambergrey
I’m not a pedal person because I use the plugins in Logic, Line 6 or Native Instruments. However, I have heard from a reliable source that the Strymon BigSky is really good. Could probably find a store that would let you give it a try. #gearsquad
@ambergrey
A bit confused. Are you looking for a pedal board setup for your guitar in a live situation, or a plugin in the DAW for recording?
For the former I'm not really going to be overly helpful because I no longer do play live. And I was never really a pedal player when I was.
For the latter, I would highly recommend looking at convolution reverbs, of which Logic's Space Designer is a good example. Here's an article that might help: https://output.com/blog/convolution-reverb #gearsquad
Well the Presonus Quantum 4848 is removed from the rack and awaiting its final disconnection from my system. The Apogee Symphony arrived at the L&M Ontario depot from California a couple of days ago, so it should be here soon. Getting excited now. #gearsquad#studiogear#studio#recording#presonus#apogee
@ambergrey
Basically I'm moving towards having a high end recording studio, instead of having an adequate recording studio. The Apogee Symphony is an extremely high quality audio to digital & digital to audio conversion system, whereas the Presonus Quantum is more of an adequate system, that has actually caused me a a lot of grief the past few weeks. The ultimate end result will be a recording studio I can invite artists to come and record at, something I've always wanted to do. #gearsquad
Shameless plug to the #gearsquad folks, there's a guitarpedals community over on lemmy.world. If you @ the community from #mastodon it will start a post on #lemmy, and if you follow the community from mastodon all posts and comments will be boosted on mastodon by the community.
