Antifa and BLM and regular Portlanders defended their city from The Proud Boys and Trumpers for years. Mayor Wheeler (who is also police commissioner), Local and Federal police sided with the fascists, or just didn't show up.
We were made the scapegoats by people more concerned about business, money, and broken windows than by fascists. We were tear gassed, beaten, and arrested night after night. We were painted as a violent mob.
Now the Proud Boys and Jan 6ers are convicted traitors.
Remember this next time you hear the "violent protesters" narrative. Sometimes fascists need to be punched. A lot. For years. Be thankful Antifa did the punching for you.
