It's over six days since the Release Candidate was published. There still has been no serious issues reported with it. It's getting very likely that you will be playing final 3.1.0 release coming weekend. #freeciv
For some time we've posted NEWS between 3.1.0 betas relative to each other. As stable 3.1.0 is already near, it's a good time to recall what entire freeciv-3.1 is about, relative to freeciv-3.0: https://www.freeciv.org/wiki/NEWS-3.1.0#freeciv
There are some software that we need to preserve, meaning both keeping them under development and also keep them as community-driven projects.
I'll list here the projects I think that should be preserved, and I invite you all to comment the projects you think are essential to be on the list (please provide URL as well)
Most people here will have heard of #FreeCiv, a freely available game inspired by #Civ2.
But did you know there is another longstanding game with the same inspiration?
Meet C-Evo!
C-Evo has been in development since the times of Win95, mostly being a single person project. It aims to improve#Civ2, and not to overhaul it. It aims at a slim rule set, and the AI is made to win, not to roleplay.
And the screenshots really show a #Civ2 feeling!
