In the exceedingly improbable chance that there's a JavaScript developer looking for an interesting open source problem. I just filed a bug in #FediThready re how it counts the characters in URLs. Sounds simple but HOW we incorporate that into chunking of long texts is interesting.
holy 💩! DAYS after updating the "Social Preview" for #FediThready - at least 3 - GitHub FINALLY started serving up the image instead of the default stuff.
BUT I made a "it works just give it time" post with a link, only MINUTES after having it work in a DM, and guess what? IT'S NOT WORKING... but ..it is... sometimes?
The shitty thing about trying to improve #FediThready for #blind users is that because that's not my lived experience I can't make it more than "usable" without asking them for free labor.
I'm trying to help them, not give more work to people who already have a hard enough time dealing with the everyday abelist 🐄💩 my fellow software geeks force on them by not even considering them.
🤔 I really want to figure out how to make #FediThready be able to post to a Mastodon server WITHOUT requiring a back-end.
I'm pretty sure it's possible to do OAuth and store the token locally without one, but i would love it if someone could point me to an example of this rather than figuring it out from first principles.
