"Severance" by Dead Can Dance is a hauntingly beautiful song that explores separation, loss, and longing. Gerrard's mesmerizing vocals and Perry's evocative instrumentation create an enchanting and introspective experience.
It sums up all my love of early #DeadCanDance and movie scores, all my desperation and the tiniest littlest fragment of hope I still have. It's a rather transparent map to my soul, as a matter of fact.
There's also a version with (#goth-adjacent) vocals, but it's not quite as "right" as this.
