I haven't posted any deer photos for a while.

EDIT: Just realized that this is photo 200 for me in the #Drones4Fun series.

I try to post a single drone photograph, no more than once a day, as often as possible. It's taken me since 12/19/2022 to reach 200 images.

I try to find images that will "add something" to the existing collection. Some photos are included, just because they are interesting or unique (not necessarily great photos).

Last February I posted a couple of images of ice racing on a nearby lake. This year, it's been warm and the ice isn't quite thick enough for them to get a permit to have several hundred cars out on the ice.

But, the track is ready and they are checking the thickness of the ice every day and hoping it will get there.

We caught a very clear video clip of a mountain lion passing through the backyard on a wildlife camera last night.

This is pretty wild! We're about 10 minutes from the Northwest corner of Mille Lacs Lake.

Mountain Lions are very rare in Minnesota, especially this part of Minnesota.

In a break from my daily drone photo series, let me share these interesting (not necessarily good) photos taken today.

The north side of the lake is mostly clear of ice, while the wind pushes the ice southwest. Mille Lacs Lake has 207 square miles of surface area.

The ice is coming off Mille Lacs Lake (in early May) and as the wind blows it against shore it grates together and forms piles, up to 10ft high, of ice chips on the ice and near shore.

Back to the 2022 best of. This was probably my top seller at the Farmer's Market this last summer, if not it was definitely the one that seemed to draw the most people in! This isn't a great photo in general, but I'm fairly happy with what I got given the weather and lighting conditions at the time.

A week ago, it was in the 50's F and the snow was completely gone. We thought that spring was here.

It was a great evening for taking Drone photos. Nice lighting and an interesting mix of snow, ice, and open water.

These are conditions that only come along once or twice a year, if that.

Tomorrow, we loose the sun and the by the time it get's back, the snow may be gone.
