I've started a rewatch of #theuntamed and am noticing some stuff I didn't before. (I had NO idea what was going on the first time thru.) Lan Wangji likes Wei Wuxian more than everyone thinks. Jin Zixuan seems to actually like Jiang Yanli, but just like LWJ he can't bring himself to express his feelings. MianMian seems to be the one stirring everything up, yet WWX blames JZX instead of her (I don't think he realized she was being catty.) And Xue Yang's related to the OG yin iron guy? #cql#cdrama
Speaking of Clan Leader Yao... he's a cultivator. And apparently one of high enough cultivation to rebuild and run a sect (his isn't so small he's excluded from clan gatherings). Can y'all imagine that mother fucker actually attaining immortality?
Bruh. #mdzs#cql#theuntamed#rewatch#cdrama
Tonight I'm feeling awful for #weiwuxian because he's not given the chance to grieve the loss of his home and the loss of the people who raised him and who knew his parents. Jiang Cheng and Yanli get to fall to bits, but it's on him to get them out and take care of them.
And also that one kid who never gets to make a good shot. Except this series would be a lot shorter if he'd managed it.
Idk there is something hilarious about a group of mean bandits using their swords to smash open watermelons and then meanly devouring the watermelons. #MyHeroicHusband#cdrama#comedy
I watched this show out of order, and wasn't much into the genre, so I didn't think much of it at first, but when I heard that the real strength of the show was character development and change, I realized that I needed to go back and watch it from the beginning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KdPiLT9MwE

The Untamed - The Chain
The Untamed is too vast an epic to be contained in one 500 word post. But it is definitely worth watching.
A martial arts, mystery, fantasy, romance that sticks with you. I made this to document the 16 years skipped over in the story where Lan Wangji (in white) morns the loss of Wei Wuxian (black). https://vimeo.com/743434096
LLTG was a Chinese historical drama / romance about a brave and free-spirited girl moving to the capital and being courted by three very different men.
The girl liked engineering and was an interesting heroine. She eventually learns to navigate the rigid society she lives in.
Watched the first few episodes of #cdrama League of Nobleman & if you like investigation type costume dramas this might be one to look at.
I'd given up on it airing, there was a 'coming soon' trailer on wetv abt 2 years ago, then nothing, it seemed to disapper, & I assumed cancelled/dropped.
Now with very little announcement the 1st 10 eps are up. There are 29 episodes in total.
@DaebakPodcast
I just listed to your show on "Love between Fairy and Devil".
Thanks so much for mentioning MARS. I read the manga when it was coming out, and still have a couple of the volumes, but I never knew that their was a Taiwanese adaptation of it.
I have since found it on YouTube and have been happily binge watching it ever since.
Hikaru no Go - Live Action
The Japanese Anime that launched the worldwide craze for GO had a Chinese live action adaptation.
Hikaru was renamed Shi Guang and it was moved to Hong Kong right after it re-established Chinese rule. Sai was considered a time traveling soul (because Ghosts weren't favored in Chinese shows at the time). But the timeless story of two rivals turned friends still pulls at the heartstrings. #CDrama: Off the back of re-watching Falling Into Your Smile, I’ve thrown myself into Love Scenery and have become a bit addicted. It has a similar premise to You Are My Glory, but thankfully both series are telling their own story. The main couple are very cute, though their refusal to be honest with each other occassionally* infuriates me.
I love the couple in this. In terms of power dynamics, they're both equally matched, and it's a very mature relationship with nary the usual "noble idiot" tropes.
Word of Honor
Why would a political drama in a martial arts world burn down the internet? Amazing chemistry.
Two unabashed murderers find redemption through love. A male/male romance that slipped past the Chinese sensors with lovely acting, humor, exciting fight scenes, Amazing costumes, and SO much flirting! The side characters are interesting, and the plot has depth, although it is confusing at times. Tragic and sweet.
It's got everything! Enemies to lovers, rivals to friends (or lovers, idk, I'm not even halfway through yet), coffee shops, loyal and loud besties, misunderstandings based on snippets of overheard conversation, assholes for assholes sake.... it's definitely an #idol drama.
