Watching ep 14 of Sunrise on the River and I LOLed at the whole thing.
So our main character is sent to "Communist Party school" to "improve on his service", and he is forced to room with his arch nemesis & colleague so that they could improve their "comradeship".
"Team building", communist style!
I am quite enjoying a #cdrama face-switching murder-mystery called In Blossom on Viki!
But this easter-egg image, from the Visual Effects directors credit page that opens each episode, made me smile: I swear it is a hanfu recreation of the famous Old Boy film’s single-camera-take fight scene!
Stubbornly watching Sunrise on the River and I’m now at episode 11. It may not be cracktastic like In Blossom, but the cases are good and the acting is stellar.
As you can see I’m trying to stockpile episodes of In Blossoms so that I can survive the one-episode-per-day drought of next week lol.
Which is funny when you think about it. I still remember the days when I watched #Kdramas and it was two measley episodes per week. I have been horribly spoiled by #Cdramas.
Have decided to watch “Guess Who I Am” with Wang Ziqi and Zhang Yuxi 🌸 while I’m waiting for the next episodes of “In Blossom” to drop. There were more serious options out there, but I don’t want to be distracted by watching different, intense dramas at the same time. So I’m going for a rom-com.
New stills from “In Blossom” have just been released 🌸 The drama has a nice balance of murder mystery, romance and nice visuals. The costumes for the male actors are particularly well-tailored and elegant.
It’s been a pleasure watching this drama. Will be interesting how it all ends…
Just finished watching “Secrets of the Shadow Sect” with Lin Zehui and Hu Yiyao🌸 It’s a short drama but well-plotted and with character developments for the main cast. Both lead actors are new to me but beautiful and talented so I’m glad that they were given a chance to star in a short drama.
While waiting for new episodes of “In Blossom”, I decided to try this short drama: Secrets of the Shadow Sect with Lin Zehui and Hu Yiyao 🌸 The plot is not nuanced but the relationship between the main leads is good enough to hook my interest.
Just beginning to watch episode 18 of “In Blossom” 🌸 Pan Yue just had his penny drop moment. Actually, I thought he had worked it out earlier. What I reallly liked about this scene is that he wanted to tell her that he knew the truth because of the nursery rhyme, but stopped himself, realizing that it would put her in danger. They are using foreshadowing well, because he had earlier expressed regrets returning to the town, because that got her killed in the first place.
Dramas I'm watching now: #InBlossom - Liu Xueyi's dishiness and acting chops is giving me joy. #JoyOfLife. Very plot-heavy with a twist that I've totally spoiled myself for lol.
Sunrise on the River; the most un-idol drama ever - A drama about civil servants trying to save the environment. Not a single handsome face to be found lol.
My #CDrama taste ranges from super serious to super fluffy as you can see.
Am now watching episode 7 of “In Blossom” with Liu Xueyi and Ju Jingyi 🌸 The premise with the swapped faces requires suspension of disbelief but it’s an effective plot device for the love story to unfold. The main couple are still wary of each other but are perhaps beginning to respect each other a little.
Still no chemistry but then again the love part hasn’t unfolded yet. I like this drama; it looks beautiful and the male lead is handsome and charming.
After all the smart-ness in #CaptivatingTheKing, I needed a #kdrama that didn't require any thinking. #ALoveSoBeautiful has the emotional and mental depth of an after-school special, and 20 minute episodes! Winning.
Except the ML is a total JERK to the FL. And the 2ML is thoughtful, supportive, considerate, kind, emotionally aware... exasperated sigh
It is a Korean remake of a #cdrama and ... I can tell?
