The last two days were busy, and today, I spent most of my time traveling. I'm finally home again.
Saturday was my sister's big birthday party, and it was great. I got to know a few more people. Sinking roots into my future home area. (And childhood home area.)
Sunday, we went to the spring festival of the local agricultural museum. I met an old friend and former neighbors of mine. More roots. That was... humbling.
I did a lot today (except writing), and I find myself tired and exhausted. Which means I'll curl up with a book and a glass of wine.
The doing was good, though! A walk, taking care of chicken, cooking a meal. I feel good about it all, and I am actually surprised by the amount of energy I had today.
(Oh, and a morning in Valheim. That was really good, too.)
Travel went very well. All trains connected, were on time and not too full. Dad picked me up, and now I'm ensconced in my sister's home with my nephew.
All is well, but I am tired. Day started truly early.
The silence here is awesome. I know I'll sleep really well tonight.
Good news for one of my problems - it is now solved and I can check it off my list.
Family problem persists. I'm trying to see it as a chance to shift a difficult relationship. (Yeah. Who am I kidding?) But I'll take whatever joy I can get.
No writing. Today, it took everything I had to keep it together. Plus the support of quite a few gentle souls in my life. Grateful for that.
Tomorrow, I'll prep for my vacation. And writing retreat.
Had fun in Valheim, although I had a sad accident with a server restart. Still, my little Twink is saving the day with replacement equipment.
Didn't do much else today, to be honest. I'm getting ready for my Easter vacation, running laundry, planning groceries and gifts.
Sun is in my thoughts, and I know what will happen for the rest of the book (and that is partially why I'm not writing madly). Still, his story will be told.
Another day with lots of Valheim. My friend rearranged our main house, and it turned out lovely. This is so much fun!
I also took care of the one final admin thing for this month. It was both easier and harder than I thought - but it is done, and I am very glad for it.
Also read a comfort book (swoon), and that helped a lot.
Sun spoke to me a little this morning and 200 sweet words slipped out. That makes me happy.
Spent much of the day in hyperfocus with my new game, but I am proud of myself for sending out an extra newsletter today because of the Smashwords sale. (The one I posted about earlier, as well.) Definitely author adulting level.
Wrote 1300 words for Sun. Morning writing times are very much worth it.
The rest of the day was less productive. Survived Office Day. Did another round with a specific customer service, will have to jump through even more hoops next week. I'm so glad I'm leaving that place.
I played my new game a lot to calm down from that phone call. Now I'm aware I'm masking, and aware of the effort it takes.
No writing today, except for the blog post about my new online bookstore. I'll post the link a few more times in the near future, because I'm so excited about it.
I also played a new game, thankfully with a friend tutoring me. That was a steep learning curve at first. (Valheim, if you want to know.)
Mostly, however, I read a comfort book. And that felt really good.
