Planning on going to RI Anime Con this year, and noticed that they have Jad Saxton (Chika Fujiwara, Chika Takami, and a lot of other English roles) as a guest :ChikaYay: !
@fujiwara I remember you were looking to get an autograph from her, do you want something sent?
Coming out of post-con hibernation for a bit to start making posts. (Also good morning to the EDT time zone. :4504_aqua_laugh: )
Anime Boston was a lot of fun! It's been 10 years since I started going to AB, and the con still holds a special place in my heart. Last year was the first time I cosplayed Yohane, which has led to a year of fun and happiness as I've met so many great people in the local cosplay and idol communities. This year, I did way more with cosplay than ever before, and while I'm really eager to improve a lot of things, I'm also pretty proud of what I've done (and proud of the fact that I'm now dissatisfied with things that are far better than my best from a year ago.)
Some event highlights for me:
-The Queen Bee concert on Friday. Avu-chan is an incredibly talented vocalist, and this comes through even better live :mexcitedmiku:
-The idol showcase. Every group really showed their stuff. So many incredible performances, I really love watching and cheering for all the groups here.
-An excellent panel on plus-sized cosplay, with both broader perspectives on inclusivity and some great practical tips.
First cosplay pic post, I was gonna be Maki for day 0 but I was late coming out of work and forgot my wig. :TamakoLaugh: Still took a pic with it on back home though.
Getting hyped for Anime Boston this weekend! Looking to show off a couple new cosplays. And really excited to watch the idol showcase, a lot of groups have been making really hype posts, I have a feeling it's going to be one of the best yet! :mexcitedmiku: Any other Fedi people coming?
(Takina might not make it, changing Friday is gonna be rough because we don't get hotel until at least noon, and I don't think I'll have her pistol ready at any rate.)
Metam0re is looking for vendors/artists for Summer Id0l Jam 2024, to be held on July 27th in Framingham, MA. It's a free entry single day idol-themed con-type event, mainly featuring idol showcases (plural!!! :mexcitedmiku: ), singing, and a cosplay contest. Last year's was easily one of the most fun events of the year. They're looking to grow it out a lot this year, in one way by having a market area for vendors. (Because we clearly need another way to spend money on merch. The Miku pin I bought at the artist alley last weekend was a need, it was Miku day! :leafeonmoney: ) Figure I should post about it here since word tends to spread mainly on instagram, but there are a decent number of fanartists and folks in the Northeast US/Boston-area specifically on Fedi!
Getting hyped for Northeast Comic Con, from March 8-10! :akko_excited: Posting cosplay lineup. Friday/Sunday are kind of tentative, I might switch one out with Maki.
Really excited for Saturday, which will be my second performance in an idol showcase! :mexcitedmiku: I'll be performing Reina Prowler's Silent Hacker from Macross Delta. (Not doing Love Live?! :ChikaScared: )
I'll be performing in the Idol Showcase at Another Anime Con next week! :mexcitedmiku: First time doing a dance routine, which has been a tough learning curve. (Also, I think I've found the one thing that makes me as uncomfortable as listening to recordings of myself singing: Watching recordings of myself dancing. :neocat_sweat: ) But I think I've improved a lot, even if I'm by no means good at this yet. Not posting the song/cosplay online yet, making it a small surprise for next Saturday. :akko_wink:
