I told @xtaldave the plot of Frozen Heck and he said it bore some similarity to Event Horizon. So now we’re watching this 1997 cult classic. I thought I had seen it before, but apparently not.
It moves much too quickly for me. I have to keep asking Dave to pause and explain it to me.

Ah, Event Horizon. 😅 Best guess why it feels like it's moving too fast... it's because it is.
Legend has it, a huge portion of this movie ended up on the cutting room floor, including additional gory scenes that made test audiences recoil. There was more to it before they trimmed for theaters and made several versions the director hated.
Part of the cult charm, I think, is imagining what is missing that we only have scant evidence was taken out.
