Affirmative Action is a way to try to right generational wrongs that have caused damage to entire portions of our population, damages that continue to reverberate today.
Given that the US continues to underfund public primary education in poor and underprivileged communities where generally minorities live in higher proportion, yes, this is breaking history and the future for many in this country.

Yes, and after you do, I suggest reading the report, or, at a minimum, the Appendix to it, that the second "Sedition Trial" Special Prosecutor, O. John Rogge, produced following the case being dropped. There are patterns described and solutions proposed there that are relevant today.

A real pitty, as people need to know that "#CulturalWar" is not just a headline but as real as the #WarInAfghanistan, only not with as many bloody casualties.

People who don't want others "dropping by" can easily switch their settings to "followers only" or even "..only mentioned in thread".
People can and should have different or even opposing views, as long as the engagement is civil and the language is not abusive.
(I even try following people with different views and backgrounds to keep expanding my bubble--no #MAGATs or fascists, or zealots, religious or otherwise, though.)

Sherrilyn Ifill provides a thorough takedown of our right-wing extremist court's decision against affirmative action in higher education. They did leave intact affirmative action for wealthy white people, such legacy admissions and admissions of big donor's family members, so the supremacist power structure (that enabled and supports the majority of this court) is untouched.
In the words of Joe Biden, "This is not a normal court."
@TonyStark You didn’t mention the lucrative voucher system that many states have implemented to also undercut and eventually destroy public education. Florida and Wisconsin are at least two that come to mind. Kirk Bangstad in Wisconsin is working to bring this to the forefront in WI but we do not have enough brave warriors like him fighting the good fight for quality, equitable public education.
@TonyStark If Leonard Leo's SCOTUS agents were in fact "conservatives" or "Republicans" in the truest sense & meaning of those terms, they wouldn't be on the bench obstructing, perverting, debasing & overturning the authority of the Reconstruction Amendments drafted & passed by true Republicans to right many of the wrongs of rebellious slaveholding assholes & endow citizens of the United States with a groundbreaking framework of civil & human rights.
