I think everyone has to remember that that tech-press was a big contributor to the mess that became social media. Their priorites are not the same as ours, and their observations and conclusions can take years to be exposed as completely billionaire fluffing horseshit. I respect a lot of tech writers, but others should be trusted about as much as ChatGPT. Which is to say, not much.

@shoq one thing that shocked me is the coverage of Omni last week. Most tech press outlets reported on what it “could do” without laying a hand on it, based solely on the demo and press release.

Not what it allegedly could do, but what it does and will do. That’s bad practice. I’m sure OpenAI appreciated it.

@shoq checking everything we see hear & read, twice is part of living.

The design of this is to further cause decision fatigue and keep people in their boxes to exacerbate already existing stressors and further some wealthy group of a-hats/holes' agenda.
Fun times these, it's like history repeats itself because people keep thinking money and power somehow make someone worthier than someone else. If you believe this, you've been duped.
