@ismh Add the following to /Library/Application\ Support/Logitech.localized/LogiOptionsPlus/app_permissions.json:

"aipromptbuilder": {
"value": false
}

and reboot. This disables the process, removes the AI option from the Logitech Options+ UI and allows you to delete the folder without it returning. Found the solution for Windows in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/1c7x1am/why_is_this_logi_ai_running_i_didnt_ask_for_this/ and found the same file in macOS.

@ismh FWIW this appears to be Mac only. I just updated to the latest firmware on my G502 Hero on Windows and I can't find any AI shenanigans (that aren't Microsoft related 🤮.)

But why? The putative reason for this to exist is so that they can put a prompt button on their mouse. Why wouldn't that just launch some arbitrary third party app? Why would Logitech want to pay for those queries?

@ismh Already disabled the logitech keyboard software because they moved it to Electron and it takes up ram and cpu continuously. I guess I dodged a bullet.

All I want to do is configure what my fn key does! Why does that require a web browser or an "AI" :(

@ismh Home directory folders are bad. Naming it ai_overlay_tmp should be prosecuted.

(This is why I started customizing mouse buttons with Better Touch Tool years ago)
