Proof that we've lost our some of our social conditioning is when someone actually does ring our doorbell, the house explodes in chaos. My wife's favorite comment in those situations is "what kind of animal show's up to visit unannounced?!?"
it used to be that people would do the courtesy of making a phone call first, to at least find out if anyone would actually be home and if it was not inconvenient.
lately people seem very put out when no one is waiting for them at the door when they unexpectedly drop by.
@ai6yr I know what works to stop people from ringing your doorbell to begin with. A nice big sign on your door saying “no sermons surveys or solicitations.” It’s helped to cut down the foot traffic to my front door.
@blue_fenix LOL might be careful of what I wish for. I did think it would be amusing to either get a broken Ring and put it over the button, or 3D print something that looks like a Ring over the button 😂
@ai6yr I mean, that's the button political canvassers press, I wouldn't connect anything to it and I just got off a city council candidate's campaign organizing call.
