I didn't realize that Malaysia is also called 大吗。 Definitely feels easier than 马来西亚。

chungliwen,

@liztai 大马

Sorry for correcting, but it is 大马 instead of 大吗.

@filburutto oops! Thanks 😄

I only know: 大 Dai/big
One of the few characters I can recognize because it's relatively simple and distinctive.

@EllenInEdmonton @filburutto Haha I get ya. I typed 吗 forgetting that it is the character one uses at the end of a question. While 马 (horse) makes more sense as the character to describe Malaysia. The character is a "sound" translation of the "Ma" in Malaysia. This exchange will help me remember the character better 😄

EllenInEdmonton,

@liztai @filburutto
Excellent! So, Big Horse, except different?

@EllenInEdmonton @filburutto the word doesn't have a meaning really but I suppose its much easier to say that 马来西亚。(which literally, when said out loud, comes out sounding like Malaysia)
