Another day to keep on the shadier paths. Predicted top of 43C and it was over 30C when i set out before 9am. Felt cool in the park with a lovely breeze and some intermittent cloud cover. #park#walk
Noticed these amazing red flowers on my walk through the park. Called the firewheel tree according to plant id app, mostly growing in rainforests further north (northern NSW up).
Which means we’ll probably see them in Melbourne within a decade or 2. Silky oaks & Illawarra Flame trees never used to flower down here, but now put on spectacular displays. Lovely but a scary indicator of climate change.
