@massivelyop it depends on the game. If it is a very linear them park game, or if I can experience the entire game with a single character, I am a 1 on the scale.
If the game offers secrets, access to new areas, provides a unique way to interact with the environment or offers a new perspective, I will make a million alts.
@massivelyop My good friend has never hit level cap and we have played for 20ish years across many MMOs. They are a 10 for sure.
They play a different game than me, even in the same world. ESO isn't about saving Tamriel, it's about finding out where strangers got their pants from. WoW is more about "Wow, I love that greatsword!" GW2? More like, gonna need to buy two.
@massivelyop ehhh, im really only an altaholic nowadays in games where more alts = faster progression. Like in DFO, I currently have 54 characters, but I really only play like 10 of them right now. But I tend to have double digit alts on most of my games
@massivelyop I hit the global character limit in WoW. More than once. (Unless it’s increased since I stopped playing, I might still be at that limit. )
For games where that number is smaller, I’ve hit the limit regularly. To say nothing of server limits. I’ve had to buy a bunch of character slots for DFO. :blobcatdance:
I didn’t even usually have a main, but rather a handful of mains.
Now I try to stick to focusing on two mains at a time. I’m not always successful.

For me it's most a good outcome for daily.
In NGS it's costumes an build points for the Creative mode.
Also I like the Season approach. Were you start standing again after a season is done. Most likely in a RvRvR game.
