If you ever find the Gingerbread Spice herbal tea from Celestial Seasonings, it's a great alternative, hot or cold. I use it to make alcoholic cocktails and sober drinks, too.
And if anyone gives you a hard time for keeping sober, remember: they're the one with the problem. Not you.🙂
@ihember Ohh that's interesting, I never thought about that! We have quite a few tasty alternatives now, so I feel pretty confident! No bad night of sleeping with foggy memories in the morning!!
@stephanie I can't remember if I've asked if you've ever made a "shrub?" I LOVE them, and they're amazing in #Sober drinks or in #cocktails.
Equal weights chopped fruit and sugar in a clean, covered, non-metal container in the fridge. Stir daily. Eventually, the fruit will shrink and you'll have a syrup. Strain and mix the syrup with any vinegar.
Shelf stable and delicious mixed with sparkling water or ginger ale, etc.
I make several every year with different fruit and always enjoy them.
@deborahh@stephanie I picked up some "no alcohol gin" at Winners to share with my kids because they saw me making gimlets and Collins and the like.
It did not taste like gin, it tasted like perfume.
Which, I mean, it's a random bottle at a wholesale reseller, it's gonna be a roll of the dice. But I would've thought "juniper" was a hard flavor to screw up but here we are.
