If you've had your lifetime fill of stupid sexist gatekeeping in the key of "Valdemar is horse girl stuff, not REAL fantasy" and similar gems, I'd recommend you avoid the discourse around The Marvels.
(I don't know if the movie is actually good, but I have seen the discourse, and it is trash.)
