@Teri_Kanefield: Trump clearly needs to read a "How to be a Criminal Defendant for Dummies" book. He's doing exactly the wrong thing every single time, but then I guess that's what happens when one puts their political needs ahead of their legal needs. Of course the legal needs have a very direct effect on their ability to do anything post proceeding, something he doesn't seem to grasp.

@Teri_Kanefield It just seems like he's never playing to the judge, he's always playing to the right wing media eco system. It's like he thinks his only hope is to stoke the base enough to re-elect him and then he'll just do away with the rule of law as it applies to him or any fawning supporters who can benefit him in some way.
@Teri_Kanefield What does it take for a US judge to sanction the lawyer for putting dishonest arguments? As "officers of the court" this is a breech of their duties. In the NY case it seemed contempt too.

@Teri_Kanefield She can't have been the first Judge to hear, decide and sentence, with observations, one member of a "criminal f-ing conspiracy," before hearing the case of a higher-level capo.
@Teri_Kanefield the WaPost feature on the judge today mentioned that when she was a Federal Public Defender, she made sure to get things in the record that allowed the Federal Appeals Public Defenders to win their appeals. So I think you two might read things the same way.
