@passthejoe I agree completely. Although I don't use it much for desktop work, I have a low-end NUC that runs AlmaLinux very well in desktop mode. Wayland support out of the box and Flatpak there to provide the latest apps.

If one has bleeding edge homelab hardware, the latest mainline kernel from ELRepo runs great on Alma. Last I heard, kernel 6.9 (due out in May) will contain a complete rework of the CPU topology logic for heterogeneous CPUs (Intel 12th-gen and newer)

@passthejoe The latest long term support kernel (6.6 as of this writing) is also available for EL 9 distros, if one so desires.
