@omglinux I love the festival, but ugh, really wish we used a better word than “Free” here. Nobody outside of the FOSS bubble will know that this doesn't equate to price in English.
I mean, EVERY non-FOSS app on every store/package manager should have a big fat warning with caution tape on it. To not do so is to abandon your responsibility as a maintainer/vendor of software.
I do use non-FOSS software, every day. One handles scanning from a network printer for me. Another, syncing (quickly!) to Google Drive. Another is #KerbalSpaceProgram.
I use mitigating controls like #firejail where appropriate to avoid losses due to the un-auditable nature of the software.
To just blithely install non-FOSS software without taking any considerations of the risks is kinda silly, TBH. To supply said software without the slightest warning is negligent.
