arghdos, 4 months ago Starting this with an AA compilation featuring the same Dur Dur band from Somolia, but I got distracted by what appears to be an african band hearing the Meter's Fire on the Bayou and turning it into a song called "Baayo": https://analogafrica.bandcamp.com/track/baayo-hey-woman It also turns into War's Slippin' into Darkness near the end (maybe from the Funkee's cover from around the same time?)

arghdos, 4 months ago I'm always a bit dubious of whether I can make any sound musical decisions while working (too distracted), but: Abu Obaida Hassan & His Tambour: The Shaigiya Sound of Sudan (https://ostinatorecords.bandcamp.com/album/abu-obaida-hassan-his-tambour-the-shaigiya-sound-of-sudan) is working well for me today. Solid rhythmic, upbeat and a tad hypnotic.
