portphillipbug,

At Port Phillip Council tonight, councillors claimed that "you can't ride a bike if you're grocery shopping, if you''re dropping your kid at dance class, if you've got a couple of kids to take somewhere, if you're old, if you're disabled, if you don't want to get wet". It's like they haven't seen a bike outside of the Tour de France! #cycling #melbourne #CoPP #BikeLanes

@portphillipbug my last week of trips on #cargoBikes dropping off kid and instrument at band, picking up groceries, transporting two children, and being pretty old... make sure the bikeway is wide enough for trikes, and level if they care about people with disabilities, and space for passing a parent+child riding alongside.

portphillipbug,

@enobacon Yes, that's so important! The Option 2, that wasn't recommended, was for a narrow protected bike lane, which would have excluded trikes and wider trailers--- exactly the people who might need the protection the most!

@portphillipbug you will get the traffic you build for! #InducedDemand
