Tali is a great singer, the song is catchy, the dancers are hot and the staging has red lights AND purple leopards on the led screen?!! What can go wrong?! Well, the song is a bit bleak... sometime place 15-25?
#Israel has a decent song, but unfortunately the country has a political leadership that fights a war aiming at eradicating the palestinian people, sooo... nah. But the singer does a good job of her hopeless situation.
#Lithuania : A very blue number, at least the first verse - for the refrain, its all red instead. Not sure what this song is about, but "luktel" sounds for a Swede like a phone with smell. Or something .
#Spain goes on stage with thong bodies, red stage gear and a complete porn club vibe, but somehow its just... fantastic! I mean, who wouldnt want pyro and thigh high lacquer boots?!
#Estonia : A bunch of dudes in sunglasses and suits, local folk music instruments, performing some sort of duel singing... I'm somehow not surprised, but also very surprised! And that dance? What is that?
Its uptempo, its catchy, its impossible to understand but still kind of nice? Top 15 is my guess!
#Ireland brings a dark goth witch who performs something completely different, both for Eurovision as a contest and for what Ireland usually sends... but hey, we like the quirks!!
I wonder though, those blue-painted dancer men with horns on their forehead... are those common in Ireland? 🤔
#Lettland : I always wonder what made an artist pick that outfit when someone shows up with a blue tight rubbery-looking bodysuit... but hey, I'm no pro of Lettish fashion. Maybe it's the latest thing?!
Dons sings really well and "Hollow" is a really nice ballad, now that I have heard it at least a couple of times. The performance is perhaps a bit bleak visually, even if the refrain makes up for that.
#UK My ABSOLUTE favorite of all the songs in this year's contest, when listening to them before the show, was Olly Alexanders "Dizzy". The song is amazing, the staging is really great (and really gay) -- unfortunately, Olly danced a bit too much during the semi final and forgot to sing a bit...
but god damn it, I love this song! Top5 if there's any justice in the world!
#Norway : I must confess, I hadn't listened to Gåte's song before semifinal 2... but damn, its a powerful song, a powerful performance, amazing vocals and especially really great lights. Very spooky goth-witch (I wonder if they have exchanged favorite brew-recipes with Ireland?)
#Italy : I sense a clothes change! Some seamstress has had lots of work to do between thursday night and today... The previous henna-looking sleeves are gone? Now more black, glittery and sexy. Maybe it gives a slightly calmer impression?
I love that Italy has some great, sassy plus size-dancers!!
#Serbia: A ballad that I barely remember from the semi final... but the singer is really good, we have yet another huge rock on stage (like Ukraine), the vibe is dark and Loreen-esque...
Unfortunately it takes a bit too long for this ballad to really grow... but it's a decent song. Hard to guess... 20-25?
#Finland : I think I speak for all viewers that we are very grateful for all the stage props that are used to cover up the naughty bits of the Windows 95 man...
As a Swede, I wonder why they bring a blonde version of Oscar Zia on stage to sing the refrain?
#Armenia : Very ethno-pop and the ethnic influences are strong with this one, I really like the pattern on hte floor and the singers outfit. And who can resist a "la-la-lej"-refrain? And even some recall-singing...!
Will probably not get too many votes, and end up somewhere place 15-25.
#Cyprus bring's this year's "sexy girl singing a sexy mid/up-tempo song with dancers". This one is actually rather catchy, I can see myself lowkey-dance to it while Im doing the dishes...
Guess: Place 10-20. Will get played a lot in the mediterranian countries this summer, but perhaps not as much in the rest of europe.
#Switzerland's choreography is so impressive that even if Nemo wasn't singing an uptempo rock-opera-pop-song, I would be impressed.... but now that he sings the pop-opera AND raps AND runs around, climbs tilting round platforms, jumps and takes in the Eurovision stage - I'm gobsmacked.
Hats off for Nemo! I really hope this ends up at place 1-5.
#Slovenia sings about a historical figure by the name Veronica... Im not quite sure how that woman connects to the nude-colored clothes on the dancers or the super-tight body suit born by the singer, but I'm sure theres some connection... right?!
