@MacNaBracha And on the flip side, replacing an unaccented Latin character with an accented one changes completely how it's pronounced.

I'm looking at you, English speaker, who think replacing "O" with "Ø" just makes it look cooler!

“Siobhan is pronounced exactly as it's spelt in irish. There's no disconnect between spelling and pronunciation, unless you force a different languages pronunciation on it.”
