Baseball season is finally over and thank goodness for that. My #RedSox stunk to high heaven this year, but maybe next season will be better.

I didn’t see anyone posting about the World Series at all. Not sure what that says but this fun clip showed up in my Instagram and I just had to share it. I love plays like this, and the entire sport so much. 😅

A Yankees player stands on second base, not paying attention to the outfielder nearby that fakes a throw away from the base and puts the baseball in his glove. The runner slowly steps off the base and is quickly tagged out by the player holding the hidden ball.

@gedeonm I posted (my Rangers won it all, so of course I did!!), but you’re right, baseball talk was basically non-existent here. Even with several relevant hashtags, I didn’t get a single interaction on my post.

A few days before the Rangers clinched the WS, my birth country’s national rugby team won the Rugby World Cup, and I got a lot more interaction on that post (again, via hashtags).

So yes, seems like Mastodon is a baseball ghost town. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Every. Single. Commercial break during today’s Giants game has had that stupid MLB The Show ad with Jeter. I think I’ve seen it at least 3 dozen times today and probably hundreds so far this season. Soooooooo sick of it. I already couldn’t stand Jeter but now he’s like a plague to my ears. 🤬

They know what ads we're being served and are making them unskippable, but yet they're showing the same ads over and over.

I'd rather just watch a static post after seeing the ad the first time.

As a fan, I was excited to learn when I moved to the Poconos (Pa) that Smoky Joe Wood and his family lived in the next town over and spent summers here throughout his life. I was surprised, however, to discover that the local library system didn't have any books on our local legend. So, I made sure they got one!
