As a #RedSox fan, I was excited to learn when I moved to the Poconos (Pa) that Smoky Joe Wood and his family lived in the next town over and spent summers here throughout his life. I was surprised, however, to discover that the local library system didn't have any books on our local #baseball legend. So, I made sure they got one!
And this brought me to tears… Tim Wakefield’s daughter throwing the opening day pitch to Jason Varitek. I can’t love the #RedSox more than I do right now.
The score didn't wind up being too encouraging, but I still heard a lot of optimism from fans yesterday at the #RedSox home opener. Here's my conversation on @gbhnews "Greater Boston" with Adam Reilly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RuILcQ1tHQ
I know I’m bad at math, but how does this make any sense at all? The Red Sox have won more games than the Orioles, played more games than the Orioles and yet they’re in second place from the lead. Can someone please explain this in a way that makes any sense?! #Baseball#RedSox
On this Opening Day 2024 (Opening Day already for Yusuf, so it counts) I want to share wisdom from the great American philosopher, Bob Uecker:
“Opening Day. All you have to do is say the two words and you feel the shutters thrown wide, the room air out, the light pour in. In baseball, no other day is so pure with possibility. No scores yet, no losses, no blame or disappointment. No hangover, at least until the game's over.”
Help me out with some #ActuallyAutistic executive function and planning stuff. What should I be thinking about in terms of layering when I get dressed for my day trip to #Seattle for that #RedSox game on Sunday?
Baseball season is finally over and thank goodness for that. My #RedSox stunk to high heaven this year, but maybe next season will be better.
I didn’t see anyone posting about the World Series at all. Not sure what that says but this fun clip showed up in my Instagram and I just had to share it. I love plays like this, and the entire sport so much. 😅
