ngamradt, I wrote a blog post about the #Vivaldi web #browser and why I use it as my primary browser.
This post also contains links to a related video I created on the topic and a Vivaldi Community Talk conversation that I participated in.

gerowen, So I've discovered another neat feature of the #Vivaldi browser; Workspaces. It allows you to stay organized without cluttering up your desktop with multiple windows, each with their own set of tabs. Basically I can have a "tech news" workspace where I have news and social media all tiled. I can also have a workspace with its own, different set of tabs. Each workspace stays running in the background and you swap between them with the workspaces button. Kinda like windows within a window.
blu, Around this time, a year ago, I started using @Vivaldi as main browser on my work computer. The tiling tabs and web panels are very convenient for daily tasks. Too bad about the code analysis of websites, which I prefer the way Firefox handles it, but it's legacy of Chromium. Since I work on web design I have to use at least two browsers anyway, so this is a minimal problem.
gerowen,
beardedtechguy, This month's @Vivaldi Community Talk that @cliffwade and myself were featured on is now live at: https://community.vivaldi.net/vivaldi-community-talks/ for those who were unable to attend live.
I want to thank Vivaldi and @marialeal again for the opportunity to be on. I had a blast!

beardedtechguy, @cliffwade @mastohost @Vivaldi @marialeal Yes! 👏🏼 Hugo and Mastohost have been so great for us. They are truly the best place to go if you’re looking to spin up a Mastodon instance with minimal effort.
mastohost, @cliffwade @beardedtechguy @Vivaldi @marialeal Thank you so much ♥️

bluesabre, Earlier this week, I wrote about the best browser you're (maybe) not using, @Vivaldi
https://medium.com/@bluesabre/the-best-browser-youre-not-using-93e4aad58b18
Considering that my followers are mostly Linux, specifically Xfce folks, you'll love all the features and customization options. It also lacks all the AI, crypto, and tracking nonsense you try to avoid.
Vivaldi, @bluesabre Thank you for taking the time to do your research and write about why you like using our browser. 🙏
beardedtechguy, Myself and @cliffwade are live at the @Vivaldi Community Talk discussing "What it matters to be on the Fediverse".
Come join us!

You can add custom search engines to Vivaldi on Android by adding them on desktop and syncing the devices.
beardedtechguy, Hey #AllThingsTech community and all! @cliffwade and myself will be talking with @Vivaldi this Saturday at 1pm EST on their Community Talks.
We‘ll be discussing why being on the Fediverse matters to us.
Come join us! You can join at the following link. https://audon.space/u/@Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net. It will open once the event starts.

bumble,
pjol, There seems to be a few others that have the same issue so you are definitely not alone

webology, ✨ One #Vivaldi gripe is that I can never remember how to rearrange the icons in my extension panel. They rarely change order, but every once in a while, I need to re-install an extension, and all ordering hell breaks loose.
Turns out, you have to hold down the ⌘ key, then click and drag on the extension icon before letting go of the ⌘ key and then your mouse button.
webology, @oliverandrich 🤣 🥽
pythonbynight, @webology TIL! This had been bugging me for a while... lol.
cliffwade, Started the day with a nice meeting with the Ambassador leader and Sopranos leader for @Vivaldi as well as with @beardedtechguy this morning.
Was nice to get to meet these two ladies who do so much for the community in various ways.
I'm honored to be a part of the Vivaldi community and with so many awesome others as well.
Thank you @marialeal for having us as a part of all of this!
beardedtechguy, @cliffwade @Vivaldi @marialeal It was a great meeting indeed. Thanks Maria for having us, and looking forward to contributing to the growth and future of Vivaldi!
beardedtechguy,
cliffwade, @beardedtechguy That looks nice. Is that an extension or just some customizations you have made in various ways?
beardedtechguy, @cliffwade @Vivaldi Right now it is an extension I’ve customized.
cliffwade, I forgot to post about this yesterday, though not surprising due to how extremely busy work has been with the Play Store release of Nova 8.
I applied for the Vivaldi Sopranos program and it looks like I've been accepted. I'll have some accounts setup on Monday for me so I'll be able to dive in head first and see what all is going on.
That means I'm now an Ambassador and a Soprano for @Vivaldi which is pretty exciting!
beardedtechguy, @cliffwade @Vivaldi Thanks. Just waiting to hear back from @marialeal. 😁
andyn,
Vivaldi, 🎉 Exciting news for our Android folks!
On the latest update on Vivaldi 6.7, we've amped up Translate, improved the Tracker and Ad blocker functionality, tweaked the Bookmarks manager, and many other features based on YOUR feedback.
🔖 We understand that Bookmarks are one of the most important aspects of your browsing. Now, Vivaldi remembers the last folder you opened in the Bookmarks Panel. We've also tidied up your bookmarks by sorting folders first, making navigation a breeze.
⚙️ We work with Lingvanex continuously to make the built-in Vivaldi Translate more efficient. With an improved performance and the quality of translations, we hope you'll find speedy results.
In addition to the above, we’ve polished the user interface and made improvements to features across the board.
Find out what they are and enjoy browsing with more of these powerful browser features👇🏻

DanMan, @Vivaldi I'd love to use it on my Librem 5, but you don't release your mobile ARM version for Linux, only Android. 😞
balterwenjamin42,
Vivaldi, @balterwenjamin42 Did you try with the search URL listed on https://help.kagi.com/kagi/getting-started/setting-default.html#chromium_browsers?
jon,
jon, I guess it is a question of learning a few of the tricks. Some suggestions:
Only show direct mails in the unread folder. Hide custom folders and mailing lists.
Move important mailing lists into the important folder. Close the other folder and only click the parent folder to see what is inside.
Learn to use the view toggles. Use different settings for different folders, depending on what makes sense. I often hide unread mails to only show new ones, for example.
Use keyboard shortcuts, such as T to view a thread and E to view the contact.
Undo is your friend. If you mark a mail as read, use Undo to bring it back.
Personally I queue mails for later sending. I guess it is old school undo sending mail...
Prefetch all mails. That means all the mail gets indexed.
Search is a function you should expect to use a lot. It is fast. Thus you can spend less time organizing your mail.
lazza, @jon I tried setting up Vivaldi Calendar yesterday. It seemed to recognize all of my CalDav events fine. The problem is that it does not seem to sync events back.
So now I created a few events that do not reflect in my web calendar nor on my phone. 😢
I am using Infomaniak Calendar for the account.

atomicpoet, @jon I first used Opera on Slackware 9. It was an amazing experience.
viljay, @jon Opera for Nintendo DS was very special!
