Oh I like these suggestions! I already read Fear and Loathing this past summer but I'm down to read We Have Always Lived in the Castle, that has been on my TBR list for a long time. Annihilation also sounds interesting to me. Let me know which book you prefer!
I’ve been doing the Couch to 5K program for a while now, and I’m currently at the last week of it. I can run for 30 minutes now, but at a much, much slower pace than the average novice runner at my age and sex (as I’ve seen when I looked it up, at least)....
That's perfectly normal if you're a novice runner and you did not do many cardio activities. When I did C25K my 5k time was around 36 minutes. To improve your time you can look into different training programs, which will often consist of speedwork and increasing overall millage and ensuring your form is good. You're not going to get fast overnight but you can gradually improve your running speed.
There is a lot of training programs online that you can try. If you want guidance from an app I found Run With Hal to be pretty decent.
If this is going to work it may take a little getting used to. Surely there will be a certain percentage of users who will be completely turned off by the different interface. For example, what you'd call a "post" on Reddit is actually an "article" on kbin. What you're reading now is an article. If you do a new "post" it...
Hopefully this becomes a new home for us! I also set up a magazine for us cyborgs. (And I'm crossing my fingers and toes that someone will set up something for ASL soon too.)
I used to have a list of sites that I go to but lost it in the migration. I visit examine regularly for nutrition. Exrx has tons of information but after a while, it gets overwhelming for me when navigating the site. I used to love simple science fitness but not anymore cause the content doesn’t feel simple anymore. I love...
I like Strong for planning and keeping track of workouts and MacroFactor for nutrition. Just Run is also great if you're new to running with it's simple implementation of the C25K program. Sadly, I haven't found any decent period trackers that I would feel comfortable recommending to others. It's a shame since I find where I am with my cycle influences my performance.
Hello to my r/loseit refugees and others interested in achieving or maintaining healthy and sustainable weight-loss!

@funchords Hello! I'm excited to engage with this community as well. Perhaps we could start a daily accountability thread like the old subreddit had?
Anyways, I'm in my mid-20s, a female, ~5'11" as well, and SW 230lbs (eek!) CW ~220lbs and my GW is 190lbs/180lbs but I'm going to focus with my body fat percentage above scale weight. I'm aiming for 20% - 23% body fat and I don't know where it will take me scale wise since I'm also quite active and doing strength training simultaneously.
Looking for a Kbin book club!
I am in the market for a kbin book club. I see this magazine is relatively new and was wondering if there was a September book selected, yet?
Too slow at running 5k after C25K

Oy new jargon for everything?!

Who Pays the Price When Cochlear Implants Go Obsolete? (www.sapiens.org)
Some cochlear implant users who can’t afford to keep up with compulsory technology upgrades are now losing their hearing.
June 15th - Daily accountability thread.
Write down our goals for the day update if you reached them or not!...
