Irving Finkel, crucially, has a most excellent beard but has also done a lot of work in this area. He's got a book, tv show and a few lectures on the Ark that may be of interest.

Pump up the Jam was the first album I ever bought, on pirate cassette in Poland.

Another clay pipe recovered from the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal in the Maryhill area of Glasgow. A few of these are still turning up, and I was really lucky to find this one decorated with a tall ship a couple of evenings ago.

@thisismyglasgow I'm happy with a few corncobs and this is likely sacrilege....but practically if you stuck on a stem could you still smoke one of these?

The Pink Peacock in Glasgow is definitely the only queer, anarchist, Yiddish café in the UK. Possibly in the world.

Or rather, "was". Sadly due to continued abuse and threats from not only the expected terfs but also from the SWP, they have had to close down.

@alexanderhay

@losttourist

I was in a few times, it was a nice wee cafe with a good vibes any time I was in.

The Food Not Bombs people, who are still operating around the same block as the Peacock, seemed to have a more sustainable setup.

You can interact with and follow Lemmy & Kbin from Mastodon for a threadiverse approach.

Home Page automatically floods with posts every few seconds, shifting content downwards

Anyone else find it extremely annoying and downright unusable that the home page (when sorted to get HOT posts from ALL communities - probably other sort options too) automatically refreshes every few seconds and just shifts the contents downwards?...

Beehaw Announcement

Seems reasonable.

I imagine an influx of ~100,000 Redditors is gonna be stressful on any community.

I'm not sure I follow you, does this mean I need to stay on Reddit or that I must go elsewhere to read saddestofboys posting about slime?

I'm enjoying Symfonium with Navidrome & Tailscale.

It just works with what I have in my music library. The server side is great and the Symfonium app is the first time I've been happy to ditch Spotify, only had it for a month or two but really happy with the setup so far.
