I, personally, even resist to use make before the scripts grow enough in size and quantity that a higher-order organizer is needed :)

I am a big believer of having to suffer first, refactor later :D

To my #autistic friends out there:

8 hours of work every day does not mean 8 literal hours of work.

A typical NT person works “much” less than that.

How much less?
That depends on the day and the person.

What’s important is the impact you create, NOT how long it takes for you to make that impact.

We are especially prone to burning ourselves out because we take a lot of things literally and most of us have an elevated sense of justice.

So take this as your random kind reminder to chillax :)

Waiting forever to recover ~2TB of data.
How’s your day going?

bad news: the disk is not mounting due to some corrupt data somewhere.
good news: according to SMART disk is in good condition.
bad news: this is the foruth time this thing is happening on the same bay of the QNAP DAS, so I suspect it’s something to do with QNAP rather than the disk.
good news: at least most (if not all) data seems to be recoverable.

After all these, I have decided to use one big fat 24TB disk; a cloud backup (such as backblaze) and be done with it.

Less complexity with a chance of losing data every ~5 years (which backblaze would take care of it anyway)
