unknowing8343,

Oh, wow, that dude in the thread is proud in his ignorance.

unknowing8343,

I could understand that some distros’ kernel had binary blobs, but the main kernel?? I was not expecting that if it’s true.

unknowing8343,

Unless you really need some big GPU thingie… Laptops are too good nowadays.

No, laptop functions have not been offloaded to phones. Phones have simply taken time from real life interactions 😅

How is everyone handling the 2FA requirement for GitHub? (docs.github.com)

Just wondering what people are using to meet the 2FA requirement GitHub has been rolling out. I don’t love the idea of having an authenticator app installed on my phone just to log into GitHub. And really don’t want to give them my phone number just to log in....

unknowing8343,

This is premium functionality, for those who don’t know.

unknowing8343,

Workaround, get some mewing hardware and √ 🤫

unknowing8343,

In terms of the software compatibility, even if you dual boot Windows, always ask for Linux-compatible software.

unknowing8343, (edited )

Just like I am not a fan of Firefox derivatives, I am not a fan of modified ISOs for Windows.

This is because all the effort put on trust on a big company/community is now gone; now you must trust some unknown random dev.

Install official Windows and apply trusted tools to clean it up. Or better yet, install Linux. That’s my general advice.

unknowing8343,

I’ve said this a few times.

Parties are not my thing BUT if a friend asks me to go to a party with enough time (maybe 2 weeks), I can mentally prepare, schedule things out, and get my mind ready for a long, tiring night… But hey, with friends, which are people that generally add to your life. Now it’s time to give back and make them smile by sharing that tiring time together.

Also, hydrate strongly prior to that night, and don’t be hungry. Don’t let anything stupid bring your mood down. And relax and enjoy. You’ve scheduled that time for you to freely waste. Own it.

Let’s face it, if you install Linux (or even Windows!) for your mom, you put VLC in there.

Yes, some other tools are better at some things, but VLC is the perfect choice for the “standard” user.

unknowing8343,

Pocophone F1 was sold like crazy, at least in my country, and I just got my brother’s and I’ll be flashing it this weekend.

unknowing8343,

If you are not hosting, it having a repo on Github makes no difference. The server you are connecting to might have a different service running and you cannot know.

unknowing8343,

For a correct metric one must multiply the time since last update by the number of open issues

This article is somehow trying to defend the movie from the fact Furiosa looks worse than Fury Road. A lot worse, from what we have seen in the trailers. It was even pointed out by my SO who usually doesn’t realize this kind of things.

So I’m gonna take this as some bad publicity stunt.

unknowing8343,

I don’t think symbolic will solve your problem at all

unknowing8343,

Skate stuff. Could never do anything more difficult than a static, barely decent Ollie. And I was a teen, lots of free time, I spent hours and hours and hours for weeks and months. Nothing.

Effort is not everything.

I am so glad I had no money, because I really wanted to be better and if I had to learn the lesson later in life I would have tried to “fix” it with high quality gear.

unknowing8343,

Uninstall YouTube, and you’ll get your browser thingie. 😅.

You should be able to do to YouTube’s Android settings and revoke the rights to auto-open.

unknowing8343,

If you want to use your YouTube account (at your own risk) then Vanced is your option.

I recommend using a proxy, tho, and for me LibreTube is the best app currently out there.

You can make an account on a Piped instance (YouTube proxy) so you can sync-up subscriptions and all.

unknowing8343,

I wish Organic Maps had up-to-date maps. If there is any possibility for that please let me know!

unknowing8343,

Oh, I very much know that! But only on OsmAnd I can see those changes being applied a few hours later instead of a month later.

unknowing8343,

OsmAnd allows me to see changes in hours, for OrganicMaps I have to wait a full month.

unknowing8343,

Well, we need a better system then
