Born in Appalachia, now living in the northeast. I code. I read. I live. Sometimes I bake. I try to grow culinary mushrooms with occasional success.

My avatar is the character Gizmo from the movie Gremlins. Gizmo is a small white and brown furry creature with large eyes and big pointed ears.

My background is a picture of a forest at the height of fall colors. The predominate color is gold with hints of orange and light green leaves.

I've got a proposal for how Amazon could improve their service: Instead of this heavy focus on delivering every package in under 24 hours even if this means they have to force their warehouse workers and delivery drivers to pee in bottles, Amazon goes back to delivering things on a 48-to-72-hour timeframe, but as a tradeoff they actually deliver the package instead of fucking lying and saying they did

tullycraft,

@mcc You know. This explains so much. I've had at least three packages that were reported as delivered, and I couldn't find them. I assumed that they had been delivered to the wrong place. The first time I contacted customer support and the second two times, I just waited. They always showed up with a day or two.

Be honest - Do you think that social media has personally made you a bit more unhinged?

tullycraft,

@BlackAzizAnansi I liked people more before I got into social media. Especially ones I knew personally.

Some fans' obsession with 'the way the story was written' is incredibly annoying. There's a visual language in film adaptions and just because their little brains are too limited to imagine characters outside their own racial identity doesn't mean that everyone else's is. Or that everyone else wants something like that.

Things I wish the #fediverse had already:

  1. A #wattpad replacement
  2. A #patreon replacement
  3. A fediverse marketplace to replace #amazon and #ebay
  4. A scholarly/academic publishing app

Apparently, it is possible to use one's Mastodon account to log into Pixelfed. Is it possible to do that with Bookwyrm and Peertube? I'd like to have a seamless login instead of having to create separate accounts for each service I want to use:

My employer made the official announcement about the new back in the office policy yesterday. They are making the managers enforce it and none of them support it. Judging from what I have heard from some co-workers about the meetings they had with their managers, this is going to be very unpopular.
