I love @ivory, but too often when I go to post game screenshots like this one from the app it will consistently fail and the only way to post successfully is to switch clients. 😢 This message failed twice in Ivory.

@ivory yes, 1.6.4. I use Yoink to copy screenshots from the Xbox or PlayStation apps, then copy from Yoink and paste into a message.

@ivory it does, yes. Here I used “Copy Stack” in Yoink to copy 4 screenshots, and paste into Ivory. (This toot failed to post as well.)

@ivory Sent an email to the support address. Yes, I am using the latest version of their app. The post also fails if I copy one of these screenshots from Dropbox instead, too.

@ivory Nice! OK. For now, I put together a Shortcuts flow to resize game-console screenshots when I put them in Yoink, so I should be good until the bug is fixed. Thanks so much for the responses! 🙏🏻🥰

I love Passkeys, and also believe that Passkeys will, eventually, eliminate my need for 1Password (which I like — but would like to not need!). macOS/iOS Passkeys automatically sync to all my devices, they’re not a text string, they just work.

So, imagine my surprise when I just went to create a Passkey for Nintendo, and found that 1Password blocked and hijacked the system Passkey prompt… in favor of their own.

Just a convenience? Or artificial lock-in to protect 1Password’s future? Hmm

One of the few positive pieces on the PS Portal. Who is this for? Me. I use a Logitech G Cloud for remote play all the time and it is brilliant. A device with Dual Sense features and remote play for $199? Yes, gimme. Off-TV play is an amazing convenience.

Shower thought: If you think of the Switch as a reverse Wii U where everything is in the Gamepad instead of a TV-connected unit, what if the Switch 2 clicks back toward what the Wii U concept was originally trying to do. As a dual-screen experience with the TV (wirelessly) or using the TV as a central display for multiplayer games between multiple Switches?

Nintendo’s GameCube/GBA connectivity initiative and the Wii U make me think maybe they’d continue to explore this idea of gameplay.

@damianogerli I don't see it as going back to a previous mistake. It's returning to the idea of connectivity—something they've always been interested in, at least peripherally. Could they bring that back on the Switch which is already successful in a way where the experience is additive and optional.

The demise of bird site has me reading more forums and personal blogs. I do miss everyone in the same place, but this has upsides. I wonder if these once-obsolete formats will enjoy a small resurgence now.

Exoprimal is on Game Pass and absolutely worth a look (tho it’s very live-servicey for a full-price game). The mix of PVE and PVP works nicely and most matches are between 10-13 minutes. It’s a hero shooter but has extraction elements and time pressure — it’s a surprise that it works so well. It won’t become the next big thing but there’s a very fun base game here and I’m looking forward to seeing how it evolves.
