@dbsalk @lunalein @bookstodon Yes. Listening to an audiobook is reading, and to think otherwise is ableist. I've read tons of books this way throughout my life as a blind person.

    I've also been thinking a lot about mobility for those of us concerned about the climate but with no other options than to use cars (in my case, either asking someone to take me somewhere or paratransit = a service thru the local transit authority that can take me door-to-door, within certain limits.)

    @consumableJoy The WIP that stands out in my mind is 13 years old. I started it back in 2010 when I was working a temporary summer job in a chilly office, so wanted a professional-ish jacket. The pattern I found called for Lionbrand homespun (and had a knit-purl pattern! why?), which in my experience is extremely splitty. I know all I have to do on it is the finishing edge, but I almost feel like remaking it with "better" yarn so I can enjoy the pattern as I make it.

    @consumableJoy After posting this, I went to the Lionbrand page and downloaded the pattern, and I'm so eager to get happy-making yarn and start on it! That might not be for a couple weeks though. @knitting

    @vlrny My aunt was visiting last week and she and I were listening to random stuff on Apple Music and Hozier came on. I'd heard the name but never any of the music (because I am extremely out of the loop/indifferent when it comes to pop music now) but we both found Hozier's voice pretty cool.

    @vlrny I still have to listen more. We only listened to the start of a couple songs, but I am curious. Think I'll wait till I'm not in as grumpy a mood. Currently frustrated with a few things outside of my control and don't want to deal with much else emotion-wise.

    I keep blowing out my cog and then being physically fried and wobbly for the rest of the day (which also destroys my eating). Trying to recalibrate to something sustainable. My new mantra:

    Think less; move more.

    I am surprised by how much this brain exhaustion is wrecking my physicality. Gotta focus some love on my not-brain; ironically, maybe to increase available cog. 🤔

    @vlrny That’s good.Meal planning is a tricky one for me too. Getting meal kits semi-regularly does help, but then the exec funk isn't always there when it's time to cook and I turn to cereal for dinner instead.

    Hello #knitting and other yarn crafty folks,
    I just came home and found these three small balls of yarn had been sitting out in the rain during the last 24 hours or so. Afaik they're all acrylic. Does anyone have suggestions of how to dry them? Thanks.

    @inherentlee I found that unwinding them seemed to help them shed water, plus as I got toward the centers the yarn was drier.
