I won’t shit on them, I’m happy they are realizing this themselves. Yes, I and many here may have realized this years ago, but I’m glad more and more people are starting to realize that streaming isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Kudos to them, and here’s to all of us finding something special in the bargain bins
You know what people want? They want to watch the biggest production ever made on their phones! And let’s cut it into 10 minutes pieces so they can watch it on the bus or whatever.
Senior marketers and csuite, discussing what average Americans want from their yacht.
I don’t know of anyone who wants this TV show in the first place. It is too early for a reboot! It only ended 13 years ago, that’s way too soon.
I also don’t know how anyone could beat the casting of the movies. Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson? Not to mention Julie Walters, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter… Ralph Fiennes? Maggie Smith? It was cast beautifully.
I won’t lie I always said the movies should have been a TV show, with each season being a book. However, that ship has sailed. 13 years is not long enough to justify a remake.
What can you get to within a 15-minute walk of your house?
A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.
Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I'm not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.
How many can you get to with a 15 minute walk from your house?
I think you’re confusing a simple bar and a downtown bar area. I have a bar a block from me, no noise, low key. Neighborhood bars are generally more go and grab a beer locally, but you don’t get massive crowds.
Very different rules too, they have a lower noise tolerance compared to a bar area. It’s something that’s honestly really nice, a place for locals to go watch the game or have a beer, and be able to walk home. It’s honestly a luxury that we have it
Don’t you know? It doesn’t matter if it is critically acclaimed, or even marginally profitable. If it doesn’t bring in 100% pure profit it’s absolutely useless to them. Who cares about just making 10% profit?
Older generations say older things were better than newer things. Newer generations preferences are bad. More at 11.
The past had a lot of great things. It also had a lot of crap we don’t remember either. Nostalgia has a way of hiding the fact that even in the “golden age” we may only remember the good ones.
That’s why everyone talks about how perfect Pink Floyd and Queen were. I love them myself. But there were just as many bad trends then too, we just only remember the good ones.
Celebrities are also the worst people on the planet in terms of taking a joke. Obviously we saw the worst case with Will Smith, but they always pan out to the audience and celebrities never know how to just chuckle and move on
Netflix and Best Buy said adieu to discs — but with streamers deleting titles to cut costs, could DVDs and Blu-rays mimic the revival of vinyl and CDs?
